Also I recently studied Instacart’s S1 and they claim only 12% of grocery transactions currently happen online. A lot of room for change here.

Really interesting Jack. I was not aware of Thrive Markets scale. After studying them, what do you think is their unique value proposition in comparison to Amazon?

Thanks, Matt! I think Thrive is going after a more specific customer than is Amazon. Amazon is the everything store for everyone. Thrive has strict quality sourcing standards so I think Thrive is looking to (a) steal 'share of wallet' from Whole Foods and (b) capture people who don't live near a Whole Foods but want to make more nutritious purchases.

You could argue that many brands that sell on Thrive also sell on Amazon, and that's where I think Thrive's superior and easier-to-navigate UI comes into play. For example, Thrive offers two types of cacao nibs where Amazon offers 50+ cacao nibs (bc of resellers), which then puts the onus on the consumer to decide what brand / size is best.
